Fresh Flower Power
Sunday August 18th @ 1pm - 4:30pm
Explore the vibrant potential of fresh colour from the dye garden.
This workshop is a hands-on exploration of colour that is sure to impress! We will work with the blooming flowers and fresh leaf indigo in the dye garden, being led by their wisdom, timing and unique chemistry.
Discover what it takes to create lasting natural colour on textiles. We will play with the Japanese art of tataki-zome (hammering flowers onto cloth), and the limitless art of eco-printing.
The magic of transferring colour from fresh plant or flower onto cloth cracks open a child-like wonder in all who dabble.
This is a fun workshop for all ages. Young people welcome.
Students will create on both:
a 29x29” silk bandana and an organic cotton square
